Casa Silva
Carmenère - Grand Terroir de los Andes Los Lingues 2016
Chili

Cépage Carmenère
Elevage 12 months in new French oak barrels (85% of the wine)

Description

The Colchagua Valley, located in the O'higgins region of central Chile, is a pioneer in the promotion of the designation of origin and the first to create its own "wine route".

Located in the cradle of our traditions, the Colchagua Valley is renowned for the production of high quality wines and has been the most awarded valley in international competitions in recent years.

In general terms, the Colchagua Valley has a pre-Cordillera sector with influences from the Andes, a central or plain sector, and a coastal sector with predominant influences from the Pacific Ocean.

Tasting

Appearance : Deep ruby with a violet rim.

On the nose : intense, with notes of ripe black fruits with hints of wild forest fruits.

On the palate : good balance between fruit and oak, good structure, powerful, sweet and round tannins, and notes of boysenberries and hints of tobacco. Excellent finish

This Carmenere will accompany a surprisingly broad range of dishes. It's sensational with lamb stew, beef Wellington, seasoned turkey, Thai red curry chicken or any kind of barbecued meat. Also ideal with kebabs, Indian or Mediterranean food
