Description
The Grand Vin of Château Latour comes only from the old vines, of an average age of about sixty years, of the Enclos. Gravettes, Sarmentier, Pièce du Château,... are some of the most beautiful parcels which each year express the typicality of a terroir and forge the identity of the wine.
The heart of the Enclos is the only one able to bring each year a depth, an elegance and a concentration worthy of what one has the right to expect from a great wine. It is here that the Cabernet Sauvignon (over 90% of the blend) gives its full expression of colour, richness and freshness. These wines require time - often a decade - before they can be enjoyed.
In great vintages, the power and energy of Château Latour's wines allow them to go through several decades with ease. Their bouquet and taste impressions evolve gradually, becoming more and more complex to reach their optimum, the tannins melt and the wine slowly declines. Beyond the pleasure, these wines provide real emotions and unforgettable memories.
Château Latour is also known for its ability to make very good wines in difficult years.

Tasting
The Grand Vin presents a delightful burst of fruit that manages to be both pure and very voluptuous, while maintaining fine, soft tannins, without a trace of over-ripeness or any imbalance.
The press wines were able to strengthen and restore richness and power to the wine while maintaining its elegance and freshness, giving it a very "Latour" character
