Tasting
Apparence : a clear, brilliant, deep dark red colour.
Aroma : relatively discreet, but opens up quickly on aeration, revealing notes of red and black fruits (raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants), hints of spices, liquorice, cedar, tobacco and a touch of smoke, typical of our Güntzian gravel soil.
Palate : The wine is firm and dynamic on the palate, with good tannic structure, an attractive texture and a lovely, smooth somehow delicate sweetness impression.
The length is pronounced and frank, with a good concentration and rich, ripe flavours. Le Petit Haut Lafitte expresses its full aromatic potential in the ripe fruits and spices typical of Cabernet Sauvignon: blackberries, liquorice, star anise, thyme, cedar, vanilla, flint…
Le Petit Haut Lafitte 2011 is a well-balanced, complex wine with good backbone,
which will please the wine enthusiasts’ palate right now and until 2020.
