Description
The history of this very old Sauternes terroir, one of the greatest in Bordeaux, has only recently become part of Clos des Lunes. It is with the 2012 vintage that the birth certificate of Clos des Lunes is truly signed by Olivier Bernard and the Domaine de Chevalier team.
This new brand comes from an exceptional terroir located between Châteux d'Yquem and Guiraud. These soils are not only known to produce the greatest Sauternes wines but also great dry white wines.
Their study shows that even greater wines can be produced here than on the soil of the prestigious Pessac Léognan.
Tasting
Eye : Lune d'Argent has a luminous light yellow colour with pale green highlights.
Nose : it is intense and complex with exotic white fruits and citrus fruits mixed with floral notes of lime and acacia.
Palate : rich, generous, full and intensely fruity, with very good tension. The lemony freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc delicately envelops the exotic sweetness (mango & lychee) of the ripe Semillon. Finally, the mineral notes bring a good salinity to this cocktail to serve a very nice finish.
