Description

Owned by the same family since 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles is currently owned by Count and Countess Aymard-Claude de Nicolay and their children.

Located four kilometres from Beaune, in the Côte d'Or, the estate is in the northern part of Beaune, known as the Côte de Beaune of the famous Burgundy vineyards, and covers 13.7 hectares, divided equally between the three communes of Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton.

It is a predominantly limestone hillside (Lavières comes from the word "lava", which is not volcanic but was the term used in the past to describe the flat limestone used to cover roofs). These same stones are found in the subsoil of this appellation.

Tasting

The wine is very elegant, with a fine and precise structure expressing a strong minerality. This gives a great aromatic complexity which increases with age.

In its youth, we find floral aromas In its youth, we find floral aromas such as violets, with a touch of liquorice. Slightly smoky and flinty, it has great persistence in the mouth. It has great persistence in the mouth.
