Description
Owned by the same family since 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles is currently owned by Count and Countess Aymard-Claude de Nicolay and their children.
Located four kilometres from Beaune in the Côte d'Or, the estate is in the northern part of Beaune, known as the Côte de Beaune of the famous Burgundy vineyards, and covers 13.7 hectares, divided equally between the three communes of Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton.
This vineyard is located in the middle of a hillside, on a slight slope facing east and its soil is divided between clay and limestone in semi-deep soils, which makes it an exceptional terroir. It has been planted in several stages and its average age is 40 years.
Tasting
The wine has a very fine and intense nose, developing red fruit flavours with a hint of liquorice and spices.
Its structure is straight and tannic, it has a beautiful power and a long persistence in mouth.
Wait for about 5 years before opening.
