Description
The Donissan de Citran family ruled this estate in the 13th century until 1832.
In 1996, the Merlaut family, a major actor of the Bordeaux wine industry, took over Citran. They kept on increasing the quality of growth and developed its renown while respecting its history. Highly lauded, the Château is designated a historical monument heritage in 2012.

Tasting
Appearance: Dark ruby, great intensity, limpid.
Aroma: Very expressive with a complex nose. Good notes of black currant and black cherry with the fines toasted and chocolate notes, well balanced.
Palate: The palate is round and powerful yet at the same time elegant. This wine has a good acid support with a good structure also. The ends is intensive lengering with the silky tannins.
Service: This is a wine to keep, from 8 to 12 years.
