Description
Es scheint, dass die Lage von Pommard die ältesten Weinbauaktivitäten an der Côte beherbergt. Die Gallier, die sich vor mehr als 2000 Jahren hier niederließen, sollen die Pinot-Noir-Traube auf der Hügelkuppe ausgewählt und vermehrt haben. Ein Tempel, der der Göttin Pomona geweiht ist, soll der Ursprung des Ortsnamens sein.
Die Grands Epenots von Pommard befinden sich im Südosten des Premier-Cru-Anbaugebiets, auf der Seite von Beaune.
Tasting
"The Pommard Grands Epenots shows a beautiful deep ruby colour.
Its nose is elegant and complex with hints of red fruit (blackcurrant, gooseberry, wild cherry), the tradional expression of Pinot Noir, mingling with grilled and spicy notes.
On the palate, the wine is ample with ripe and supple tannins. Very long aftertaste".
