Pouilly Fumé - Les Charmes 2016
Pouilly Fumé - aoc

Cépage Sauvignon Blanc
Sol clay and limestone

Description

The vineyards of Pouilly fumé now extend over 800 hectares, on the borders of the Cher and Loire rivers. Beautifully displayed on the edges of the latter, it produces one of the greatest white wines of appellation in France.

It is distinguished from its neighbor, Sancerre Blanc, by an even more pronounced fruit. A clay-limestone soil, a perfect exposure, allow this wine of Sauvignon variety to appear on the biggest tables around the world.

Very nice selection of "Charmes" comes from bunches harvested at a place called "Le Bouchot".

Tasting

Aroma: Very smoky, a pronounced fruit.

Palate: All in flexibility, make a wine of very high expression.

Food pairing: Wonderful companion of seafood, it also feels very comfortable with fish in sauce.

Service: Between 9 and 10°C.

Conservation: It will keep perfectly well for many years. It is however advisable to drink it young, to keep all its fruit.
