Description

Owned by the same family since 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles is currently owned by Count and Countess Aymard-Claude de Nicolay and their children.

Located four kilometres from Beaune, in the Côte d'Or, the estate is in the northern part of Beaune, known as the Côte de Beaune of the famous Burgundy vineyards.

Its surface area covers 13.7 hectares, divided equally between the three communes of Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton.

This cuvée comes from 4 parcels located halfway up the hillside and spread evenly throughout the appellation. The soil is deep and composed in equal parts of limestone and clay, which gives the wine a beautiful balance and a long finish. It is a very representative terroir of the CORTON appellation.

Tasting

Here, terroir expresses itself strongly but the wine remains elegant, although powerful. A lovely sensation of opulence and fullness, with a very persistent finish and enveloped in a tannic structure that is fine but quite present. Hints of forest floor aromas are found in it, from its earliest youth. With age, it moves towards wilder flavours.
