Description
Château RAUZAN-GASSIES, second classified growth in 1855 in the Margaux appellation, owes its name to Chevalier de Rauzan, who transformed the « Maison Noble de Gassies » into a famous wine estate in the 17th century.
Greatly attracted by this outstanding terroir, Monsieur Paul Quié, passionate about wine, acquired the château in 1946. The vineyard of Château Rauzan-Gassies covers 30 hectares located in the Margaux appellation and 30 hectares located in the Haut-Médoc appellation.
His son, Jean-Michel, assisted by his children, perpetuates today the tradition of this famous estate, which is the guardian and ambassador of the family's values.
Château Rauzan-Gassies produces deeply-colored, elegant, complex wines with a velvety texture that is typical of great wines with superb ageing potential.

Tasting
The elegant, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2008 château Rauzan Gassies possesses fresh, lively notes of herbs, dampe art, and sweet currants as well as blacker fruits. Good body, a moderately long finish, and no aggressiveness ; suggest it will drink well 15 years.
