A name, the fusion of two illustrious lineages ...

The Durfort Duras, knights from Quercy in the eleventh century, and lords of Duras after a union with the descendant of Bertrand de Goth (now Pope Clement V), entered Margaux in the fourteenth century where they erected a stronghold.

In 1450, Thomas de Durfort becomes the lord of Margaux.

We are in 1824.

Will follow a prosperous nineteenth century. Ranked in 1787 by Thomas Jefferson just after the castles Latour, Lafitte and Margaux, the 1844 vintage will sell for more than its peers. This classification, taking note of the positions acquired by these wines, announced the official one of 1855.
